Where do you go if you’re a woman in a desperate situation?  Where do you find hope, help, and safety?

Now there’s a new option in Erie.  The MaryRose Sanctuary is here to provide shelter and comfort.

The Sanctuary was opened this year to meet the growing need for emergency shelter for single women.  Here a woman can get food, a clean bed, a place to shower and wash her clothes, and a listening ear.

The MaryRose Sanctuary was named for Dr. MaryRose Barral, a former professor at Gannon University.  Dr. Barral’s generous bequest provided the funds to purchase and renovate the building.  But there is a need for ongoing funding to support the actual operation of the shelter.

You can make a difference.
